Boys WIll Be Boys! {Williamsburg Family Photographer, Richmond Family Photographer}

Well, I had a wild ride with these boys at their home in Ford's Colony in Williamsburg. With one 7 year old and twin 2 year olds I needed a nap when I left them!! We ran and jumped and rolled around, but mostly we had tons of FUN!! Thanks Wright Family for letting me tag along on your fun! ;-) This is what we captured....

Apples, hayrides, and wine....oh my! {Richmond Family Photographer}

Last weekend we packed up the kids and headed out to Charlottesville to Carter Mountain Orchard for some apple picking! We had never been there before, but really wanted to find a "pick your own" orchard and that was the closest one I could find. Man, was it worth that drive! It is absolutely gorgeous up there, and yes, it really is on top of a mountain! I wish we could have stayed for the sunset, I can only imagine how amazing it must look from there! Please excuse the random snap-shots that I am displaying below. They don't really qualify as "photography" in my book, simply family snap-shots, but I wanted to share them anyway. 

Yes, I am actually IN one of these photos.....a rare instance where I let Ewan use my camera! ;)

I highly recommend making the trip up to Carter Mountain for several reasons......first, it's good old fashion family fun! Second, they have VA wine!! (yes, I did put that second, can you blame me?!) They sell their own Carter Mountain wine as well as Prince Michel and others. And they do tastings all day long ;-). OK, moving on.....they also have pumpkins and a hayride, an amazing view, and apple products galore (think apple donuts, apple pie, apple butter, the works!) So, check 'em out! It's a great family outing! ;-)

Holiday Season is Right Around the Corner! {Williamsburg Family photographer, Richmond Family Photographer, Midlothian Family Photographer}

Have you signed up for your Holiday mini session yet? I know, I know, it's WAY too early! It's barely even October......but....... 'tis the season! The season for getting your family photos taken! Cross off your 'to do' list. Get your Holiday cards, gifts for the grandparents, aunts, uncles and anyone else who loves you and your kiddies! You know they all want a gorgeous photo of you! Or at least your kids! ;-)
So, here's your chance.....very little commitment (just a 30 minute session.) And you don't even have a session fee! That's right, you read that correctly. In the spirit of the season, the session is FREE, but there is a catch...We ask that you bring a new, unwrapped toy for donation. One per child being photographed is even better! ;-)
So, here are some of the details.....
Dates:
Sunday, November 6th in Colonial Williamsburg
Sunday, November 13th in Richmond (exact location TBD)
(Williamsburg sessions are already filling up so contact me asap to make sure you get a spot!)

Could This Family Be ANY More Gorgeous?! {Williamsburg/Richmond Family Photographer}

Seriously, could they? I had a great time in CW with this crew. They LOVE the climbing trees, and the ice cream.....YUMMM! ;-) Enjoy!

So, on a personal note.....we are finally in our new house!! Woohoo! Unfortunately, our first 2 weeks in the house brought us an earthquake and a hurricane. We lost power for 5 days and are FINALLY starting to feel a little more settled in. I will post some before and after house photos as soon as I get my act together and get everything looking like I want it too. ;-)

Silly, Sweet, and So Much Fun!!! {Richmond Family Photographer}

Well, hello there! It's been a while.....but there has been A LOT going on!!! We made a trip out to Chicago to see my brothers (2 of them) and their families. So, while I was there I had a session with the fabulous Lund Family!! After we were postponed because of some crazy midwest weather, we finally got together at the Naperville Riverwalk and got some great shots (if I do say so myself ;-)) Here's a few of them....enjoy!

Sweet Baby Girl {Williamsburg Virginia Newborn Photographer}

I had the pleasure of spending a few hours with sweet, sweet baby Tessa. She was such a good girl for her first photo session....although she was a bit of a nosy girl and wanted to keep one eye open a lot of the time! ;-) Thank you Chris and Stephanie for allowing me to capture her fleeting brand-new-ness!!

Summer Mini Sessions!! Check 'em out!

Here is the info on the August 6th and 7th mini sessions. I will be scheduling 2 morning (8 and 8:30) and 2 evening sessions (7 and 7:30) each day. So, get your session while you can! Saturday will be in CW, Sunday will be at a spot along Colonial Pkwy (beach-y, open field look.)

To studio or not to studio....{Williamsburg Photographer, Richmond Children's Photographer}

I am BEYOND excited to move into our new house next month.....and I have been toying with the idea of setting up an 'in-house' studio. So, because using backdrops and confined spaces is totally out of my comfort zone, I thought I better just go there! Well, I went halfway there, anyway. I set up a little outdoor studio on the deck. I just can't resist beautiful outdoor light! So here is my attempt...cute kids, huh?! ;-)

I heart a big, fun family! {Williamsburg, VA Family Photographer}

OK, as promised, here is the family reunion photos. :)

This fam was awesome! The 'most wanted' shots were of Nana with her 9 grandkids and with her 6 'kids.' Yes....there were a LOT of people there! Here are just a few of my favorites....

The weather was hot, sticky and slightly cloudy....but Stephanie's baby bump was just adorable! This beautiful couple is expecting their first baby...a girl!! She is going to be a lucky little lady :) and I can't wait to meet her!!

Lat week we took the kids to pick some blackberries at a local farm. Although we got there too late, and there wasn't much left that was ripe, we still had a great time. It was a gorgeous evening...another beautiful day in Williamsburg...

End of school year craziness! {Williamsburg, VA Children's Photographer}

Hello! Haven't seen you in a while.....I've been overwhelmed with the end of the school year craziness! I have been at the kids school everyday this week. And let me tell you.....it is not a calm place! So, anyway, below are a few photos from field day a few weeks back (I finally got around to editing them.)

Cal insisted I get "the big eagle" (yes, I know it is not really an eagle, but that's what he called it.)

Oh, and the other thing that has kept me super busy has been the big website update....check it out here. I am now offering new Session Specials - woot woot! There is a maternity/newborn package, and a baby's first year package. Get multiple sessions for a discounted rate....what do I get out of it? I get my baby fix! ;-) I LOVE seeing, holding, smelling and most of all photographing babies! Squeeeel! I even have my first package booked....will you be the next? :)

I Heart Faces Contest Entry - count me in!

I've Been Published! Well, sort of!! ;-)

In case you missed my facebook messages about this yesterday, I am excited to share with you my first published article! Does it count as 'published' when it is an eNewsletter?
